I slowly floated over to the ghosts.

I cleared my throat and yelled, “HI! CAN YOU ALL HEAR ME?!”

All of the ghosts turned and faced me. Some whispered to each other. A ghost that looked like an old man in a top hat floated over and said, “Let me guess…that kid ghost traded places with you for a day? I think life is way better, you know."

“Well, why don’t you trade with someone?” I asked.

“I always scare everyone away! You’re probably the bravest person the whole graveyard has ever seen!” he exclaimed, rolling his eyes until he was looking inside his own head.

I tried not to gag.

Another kid ghost came over to me. “I’ll show you what we ghosts do,” she said to me.

“Alright,” I said.

The ghost floated to the ground, put a tip of a blade of grass in her mouth, and she started to suck it. “What are you doing?” I asked.

“Sucking out the oxygen,” she replied. “We ghosts love to drink plant oxygen. The plant makes it taste better, and it grows faster if we suck the oxygen out,” she explained. “Try it.”

I floated to the cold ground, and stuck a blade of grass in my mouth. When I started to suck it, delicious juice squirted into my mouth. “Wow!” I yelled.

I started sucking on as much grass I could. But then, the ghost yelled, “I’ll show you where we sleep!”

She floated underground, and I floated down there as well. This is your coffin,” she said, opening a casket.

I lay down inside. “Wow, it’s comfortable in here!” I said happily.

Suddenly, the ghost narrowed her eyes. She quickly closed the coffin, and I heard a lock jingle. “Ha! You’re trapped in here forever! Finally, I have gotten revenge on humans!” she said menacingly.

I heard her laughter fade away. I tried to get out, but the coffin was ghost proof.  Suddenly, I felt cold wind rush around me. I was turning into a human! “HELP!” I shouted.

If I wasn’t rescued, I would suffocate! I screamed in terror. Where was Grace? She HAD to come save me!

To be continued…
