James River Journal upgrading Friday.

We will still be upgrading the site Friday. If you were to notice, your browser window will soon display James River Journal.net rather than .com. For an extended period, archives and older comments will not be available. We will also be fixing the site's appearance on IPAD. Behind that, we will offer an app for your Smartphone.

You really shouldn't notice too much difference in the appearance of the site, other than some sections that have "gone missing" will return.

But after the transition, we will have the ability to bring the news much faster.

The site upgrade is the next step in our pattern of growth. More steps, including additional reporters and writers, will be coming soon.
