| Phoebus Girls, Hampton Boys Win First District Meet of the Indoor Season |

The girls of Phoebus and the boys of Hampton won the first Peninsula District meet of the year on Monday night at the Boo Williams Sportsplex.
Peninsula District Girls Phoebus won the girls meet, taking first place in the 4x200m, 4x800m, Long Jump, Triple Jump and the 1000m race. They were particularly strong in the field events scoring over 50 points in those events alone. They were led by Kennedy King who finished 1st in the Long Jump, 3rd in the Triple, 6th in the 300m Dash and 7th in the High Jump. Gloucester finished second and Woodside was third. Heritage's Asonya Anderson was also standout performer, winning both the 55m Dash and 300m Dash.
Peninsula District Boys Hampton won the boys meet, taking first place in the 55m Hurdles, 4x400m Relay and High Jump. They dominated the Shot Put competion taking places one through four. The Crabbers were led by Anton Moore who took second place in the 55m Hurdles and won the High Jump competition. Bethel finished second in the meet followed by Warwick in third. The Denbigh Patriots finished fourth, but were also impressive. Only a sophomore, Darius Banks won the 55m Dash and the Long Jump competitions.
